Communicating Change to People Who Don't Listen
with Dan Kaplan
** VIRTUAL EVENT **
Date: Wednesday, August 26, 2026
Time: 9:00-10:00 a.m.
Place: VIRTUAL EVENT
Special Note: This is a special event for SHRM members
When organizations go through major changes, people react differently—and leaders often assume others need what they themselves would want. This session helps you understand how individuals process change, what they truly need during periods of uncertainty, and how small, targeted actions can make a profound difference. You’ll learn how to shorten the gap between disorientation and re-orientation and adapt your communication so your message lands with clarity, empathy, and impact.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand how employees respond differently to change
- Adapt communication to support people through transitions
- Communicate change with clarity and impact
- Help employees reorient faster during change
- Support morale and reduce resistance to change
- Take targeted leadership actions that ease transitions
