Colleen P Denston, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, HRPM, FPC
Colleen Denston serves as a Vice President of HCM Transformation for the Human Capital Management Transformation Practice at Oracle. In this role, she is a trusted advisor and a resource for strategic planning for the C-Suite and business leaders. Her goal is ensuring their success in driving change including adoption of cloud technology.
Colleen has 25+ years’ experience as a leader in the fields of management, finance and human resources. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Walden University with a major in Human Resources and minor in Information Processing. As the Vice President of Operations for a large national appraisal company and the Director of HR of a PK-12 Private school, she managed diverse teams delivering a wide variety of results including cost reduction, new product development, organizational mergers and various human resource systems and infrastructure. As well as leading, managing, measuring and controlling various initiatives.
She has volunteered her time as the 2017-2019 Director for the Maryland State Council and was the Past Director and Director of Workforce Readiness of the Society for Human Resource Management from 2019-2021 (SHRM). From 2015-2017 she was the Deputy Director for the Maryland State Council and from 2010-2014 was the Director of Government Affairs. Her volunteering experience also includes leadership in Eastern Shore SHRM since 2006 and the Employment Relations Committee for the Maryland Chamber of Commerce since 2010. As a representative for MD SHRM, she appeared before the U.S. House Financial Services Subcommittee, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the MD House Economic Matters Committee and the MD Senate Finance Committee in Annapolis and on C-Span’s Washington Journal to participate in a round table discussion regarding financial institutions and consumer credit. Colleen also takes pride in sharing her knowledge with emerging and seasoned HR professionals who are sitting for the SHRM exam by teaching SHRM Certification Prep Courses.
