The Balancing Act: Navigating Mental Wellbeing as an HR Leader

The future of work is about mental wellbeing. In fact, according to a recent Harvard study, 60% of employees say that their job is the most significant factor in their mental health. We know that workplace culture is pivotal to employee mental wellbeing. But what happens when HR professionals who are entrusted to champion organizational culture are tasked to bridge the gap between leadership vision and employee realities? It can take a toll… and let’s remember that HR professionals are people, too, and they also may be navigating their mental wellbeing. With strategy, support, and tools, HR professionals can address declining mental wellbeing in the workplace, champion an engaging workforce, and support their own mental wellbeing.

Peg McGreevy shares her expertise with organizations and helps them align their business strategy with their people strategy. After all, the right people in the right places with the right things can accomplish anything. Peg is passionate about connecting those dots, and as a consultant and executive coach, she brings a breadth and depth of experience in human resource management to do just that.

Prior her current role as CEO & Head of NounHR, Peg served in executive leadership in the financial services industry where she also gained experience in global business continuity, disaster recovery, and project management. In addition to graduating from Hood College and earning her M.B.A. from Mount St. Mary’s University, she holds a Global Fellow of Talent Management from The Wharton School and the two highest HR certifications, SPHR, and SHRM-CP.  She is certified through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing as an Adult Mental Health First Aid Instructor.

Peg currently serves on the Board of Maryland Society for Human Resource Management as their Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity (IED) and Workforce Readiness Co-Chair. She comes to us from the other side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (specifically Frederick, Maryland) where she is active in many local organizations including the Women’s Giving Circle, Frederick Health’s Business & Industry Committee, and Frederick County Society for Human Resource Management. She also serves on the Board for The Delaplaine Arts Center.
